Monet Inspired Acrylic Painting Workshop

1pm - 4pm

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT

Come and enjoy a relaxing few hours creating a Monet inspired acrylic painting on canvas.

This is a step by step workshop where you will be guided on how to mix, blend and apply the paint. All resources are provided and there will also be complimentary tea and coffee.

Suitable for all including beginners. Children 12+ can also join but must be accompanied by an adult.

Fused Glass Workshop

10:30am - 12:30pm

This is a taster fused glass workshop and you will learn the basics of kiln formed glass techniques whilst creating your glass piece. The workshop is informal, fun and relaxing and no previous experience is necessary!

You can make one of the following items on the day:

- Bristol Balloon

- Freestyle Hanging

- Flower Panel

After the workshop your glass piece will be kiln-fired, wrapped and ready to collect approximately 1-2 weeks later.

There are templates to follow and an array of glass to choose from to create your beach hut panel (approx 12cm x 16cm).

After the workshop your glass piece will be kiln-fired, wrapped and ready to collect approximately 10-14 days later.

Bag Making for Beginners Workshop

10am - 1pm

In this three hour sewing workshop, you’ll make a beautiful cotton shoulder bag complete with lining and pockets to take home after. You’ll have the choice of two different fabrics to make your tote bag with and it will be matched with a waterproof wax canvas, cotton lining and strong carry handles.

You’ll be given all the materials ready-cut with detailed instructions on how to sew your tote bag. You will be guided through the whole process on how to thread, use the machine and construct your bag.

All sewing accessories and machines will be provided, so all you need to do is turn up!

What you’ll learn:

  • Threading and using a domestic sewing machine
  • General sewing techniques
  • Edge stitching
  • Using a rivet press
  • Achieving a professional finish
  • Basic bag making techniques

This workshop is suitable for ages 16+

Join Adele for a creative and fun workshop, where you'll learn the art of free-motion stitching using a sewing machine to produce your own set of greetings cards.

All materials and machines will be provided. Suitable for all abilities. Limited to 6 participants per session.

Sew Your Own Washbag Workshop

2pm - 5pm

In this three-hour experience, you will learn how to make a beautiful and functional canvas wash bag. Your wash bag will be designed with handy outer pockets, waterproof lining and zip closures so you'll get the opportunity to practise a range of sewing techniques!

You'll be taken through everything step-by-step, under the wing of your experienced host who'll ensure you leave with a gorgeous handmade wash bag, which you can keep for yourself or gift to a lucky loved one!

In this experience, you will learn

  • General sewing techniques
  • Edge stitching
  • Sewing a zipper
  • Boxing corners
  • How to achieve a professional finish

All materials, tools, and accessories will be provided, including the gorgeous Japanese wax fabric that your wash bag will be made from.

However, if you fancy making something totally unique to you then you're welcome to bring a fabric of your choice. Sewing machines will be provided but you are also welcome to bring your own.

This workshop is designed for improvers so basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine is advised.

Over the course of the workshop you'll learn:

An introduction to silver clay and it's properties

Using natural objects to create impressions on your piece

How to fire and finish your magical creation

Lampshade Workshop

10:30am - 12:30pm

This workshop is an opportunity to discover a new skill, receive expert tips and tricks, and express yourself through an interior design essential.  Everything you need for your lampshade’s structure will be provided, you just need to bring the fabric which best showcases your unique style.

Fabric requirements:

Fabric needed for a 30cm Lampshade - approx 120cm x 30cm

Fabric needed for a 40cm Lampshade - approx 130cm x 30cm

You’re more than welcome to bring more fabric if you wish. You will spend time looking at the print placement, discussing how best to use your choice of fabric and make sure to get the perfect fit on the day.

Firm cotton fabrics tend to work best, but if you have any questions, feel free to email info@hannahredden.co.uk for further advice.

Beginner Machine Sewing Workshop

10am - 4pm

Get to know your way around a sewing machine and learn the basic techniques to help build your confidence and skills. Includes threading and setting up your machine, creating different stitches, inserting a zip, boxing corners, making and joining pieces of a simple pattern. You’ll spend the day learning how to make a variety of projects to take home using a selection of fabrics provided, including a drawstring bag and a zipped pouch. End the day feeling satisfied with your achievements and more confident using a sewing machine.

This course is a great way to start your sewing journey and you’ll leave with new-found knowledge, confidence and inspiration for future projects plus you’ll get to take your lovely handmade items home with you.

Sewing machines and accessories will be provided, so all you need to do is turn up! You are also welcome to bring your own sewing machine.

You will learn:

  • Threading and using a domestic sewing machine

  • Cutting fabric from a simple pattern
  • Edge stitching
  • Sewing a zipper

  • Troubleshooting tips and tricks
